ANGELS - CHRISTIAN WALLER, Stain Glass Windows
ANGELS - CHRISTIAN WALLER, Stain Glass Windows

This photograph was taken by Paul Danaher, here is his artist statement:

After many years making leadlight and stained glass windows, my passion is now photographing and documenting the manufacturers/artists of the stained glass windows I come across on my various travels.

When painting and staining glass, the artist effectively controls how and where light is allowed to pass through it. Compiling detailed images of stained glass windows allows me to observe the various techniques and brush strokes used by the artist to effectively tell their story and give their work its drama, and this is one of my images.

Christian Waller was without doubt a master of the technique of painting on glass. Not only is her technical skill on show, but her ability to select glass and "fill" an awkward shaped space with interest is delightful.

Christian was married to World War One Veteran artist, Mervyn "Napier" Waller.
