Description

Labels like 'poetry', 'creativity' and 'art' frequently evoke meanings that limit us exploring them. In this workshop, we will peel these labels off and you will be guided through exercises that help ‘us’ get out of our own way. You will experience that you have something profound and beautiful behind these labels.

In the workshop we will:

  • explore what poetry and creativity means to each of us

  • dispel the myths we were taught that poetry is tightly bound by rules for rhyming, timing and syllable counting

  • learn and practice techniques to write poetry

  • learn techniques to perform poetry, with demonstrations, and

  • be invited to practice performing poetry with the group, if you choose to.

This workshop is open to the Veteran Community.

What to bring

Please bring something physical to write with and something physical to write on.
