Description

Learn the foundations of portrait drawing with Veteran Artist Anneke Jamieson in this welcoming, skill-building workshop. Working from a shared reference photo, Anneke will guide you through breaking down the face into simple shapes, understanding light and shadow, and using fast sketching techniques to capture form and expression.

You’ll explore the basics of design and composition, practice seeing what’s really there (not what your brain thinks is there!), and gain the confidence to build a portrait step-by-step. By the end of the session, you'll take home your very own pencil sketch, along with practical techniques and insights you can keep building on long after the workshop ends.

Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced artist looking to refresh your portrait skills, this workshop offers a relaxed, supportive environment to learn, experiment and grow.

This workshop is open to the Veteran Community.
