Description

Join Veteran Artists Kat Rae and Kelly Manning for a dynamic, hands-on workshop where creativity, collaboration and public art collide. Together, participants will co-create a large-scale, ephemeral artwork outside the 310 St Kilda Road building, spelling out this year’s theme word, CURIOUSITY, through movement, teamwork and imaginative use of materials.

You'll work with panels from Kelly’s striking Drape series and paper ephemera crafted by Kat to weave, shape and assemble the letters of the installation. The process will unfold as a performative act of making: collective, playful and proudly visible. Throughout the workshop, the group will document the creation of the piece, contributing to an active visual archive that celebrates Veteran creativity and ANVAM’s long-held vision for a creative home at 310 St Kilda Road.

The final installation will become part of the March to Art Exhibition, showcasing the power of shared creativity and the spirit of the Veteran Arts Community.

No experience needed, just bring your curiosity, your creative flair and your willingness to be part of something bold, collaborative and fleetingly beautiful.

This workshop is open to the Veteran Community.

What to bring

Dress for mess and comfort. Materials are washable and non-toxic, so protective clothing is not a necessity, but we recommend wearing clothes you won't mind potentially getting dirty.
