Description

Join us for a stained glass art workshop using the copper foil method with an experienced glass artist and community arts facilitator.

The copper foil method makes for a gentle introduction to glass art and allows you to explore a variety of shapes and colours using delicate pieces to make smaller scale stained glass artworks like light catchers and wall hangings.

This workshop is limited to a small group for individualised attention and focused learning. Patterns are provided, and you will create a finished piece that you can take home to enjoy.

Designed for complete beginners (advanced learners and refreshers welcome), you will learn how to:

  • Cut glass using three different tools

  • Grind and shape glass to a pattern

  • Apply copper foil to glass

  • Construct your project using soldering tools

At the end of the class, you can take home a stained glass work to proudly display in your space!

Room number and teacher details will be provided by Glaas Inc. closer to the workshop date.

This workshop will run from 10am - 3.30pm and will include a 30 minute lunch break. Lunch can be BYO or purchased in the local area; however, food and drink is not to be consumed within the glassmaking room.

This workshop is open to the Veteran Community.

What to bring

Closed-toe shoes and full-length sleeves and pants. All other safety equipment will be provided.
